Key Responsibilities

The Billing Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the firm’s accounting and billing operations, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Core responsibilities include:

• Billing Operations: Process client bills efficiently and accurately using Pre-bill Viewer and paper-based billing systems, with a strong emphasis on maintaining quality and adherence to firm policies.
• Special Projects & Reporting: Assist with ad hoc projects and reports as requested by management, providing timely and insightful financial data to support decision-making.
• Cross-Functional Support: Serve as a backup resource for cash applications, accounts payable, and attorney trust accounts, ensuring seamless financial operations across departments.
• Client & Internal Inquiries: Research and resolve accounting and billing inquiries from clients and internal stakeholders, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• International Collaboration: Support accounting functions for international offices, fostering collaboration and consistency in financial processes.
• Expense & Reconciliation Management: Process check requests, expense reports, petty cash transactions, and perform reconciliations to maintain financial integrity.
• Software Proficiency: Utilize specialized applications such as Concur for accounts payable and other financial tools to streamline workflows and enhance productivity.

Qualifications & Experience

Candidates for this role should meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
• Experience: A minimum of five years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong background in accounts payable, client billing, and trust accounting within a legal or service-oriented industry.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with legal accounting practices and the unique financial requirements of law firms is highly advantageous.
