Data Management Specialist

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Data Governance & Quality Management: Implement and maintain robust data governance frameworks to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor data quality, identify discrepancies, and execute corrective actions to uphold data integrity across all systems.
• Data Lifecycle Management: Oversee the entire data lifecycle, from collection and storage to archiving and disposal. Develop and enforce policies to optimize data retention, accessibility, and usability while minimizing redundancy and inefficiencies.
• Data Analysis & Validation: Conduct thorough data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. Perform data validation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability, leveraging advanced tools and methodologies to support decision-making processes.
• Tool & Process Optimization: Utilize and optimize data management tools, platforms, and technologies to streamline workflows and enhance productivity. Stay abreast of emerging trends and innovations in data management to recommend and implement best practices.
• Collaboration & Reporting: Work closely with IT, analytics, and business teams to align data strategies with organizational goals. Generate comprehensive reports and insights to support stakeholders in making informed, data-driven decisions.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure adherence to data security protocols, access controls, and privacy regulations. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to mitigate risks and safeguard sensitive information against unauthorized access or breaches.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in data management, data governance, or a related field, with a proven track record of implementing effective data strategies.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with data management tools, databases, and analytics platforms. Familiarity with data modeling, ETL processes, and metadata management is highly desirable.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze complex datasets, identify trends, and resolve data-related issues with precision and efficiency.
• Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to data validation, quality assurance, and process documentation to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Organizational & Communication Skills: Strong project management capabilities with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Certifications (Preferred): Relevant certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, or CompTIA Data+ are a plus.
