Job Overview

West Group is seeking a meticulous and experienced Payroll Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Jeddah. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, maintaining compliance with local labor laws, and delivering exceptional financial services to our employees. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in payroll accounting, exceptional attention to detail, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Payroll Processing: Accurately calculate and process employee salaries, bonuses, deductions, and reimbursements in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure full compliance with Saudi labor laws, tax regulations, and social security contributions, including timely submission of required reports and filings.
  • Record Maintenance: Maintain comprehensive and organized payroll records, including employee earnings, tax withholdings, and benefit deductions, while ensuring data confidentiality and security.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate and distribute payroll reports to management, providing insights into payroll expenses, trends, and variances to support strategic decision-making.
  • Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from employees, addressing concerns promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction and clarity.
  • System Administration: Utilize and maintain payroll software and systems to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and ensure seamless integration with other financial systems.
  • Audit Preparation: Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during payroll audits, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive payroll accounting experience, preferably within a corporate or multinational environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday, or similar) and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly in handling complex spreadsheets and financial data.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure precision in payroll calculations, compliance reporting, and record-keeping.
  • Ethical Standards: Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and adherence to ethical standards in handling sensitive financial and employee data.
