Accountant (Arabic Speaker)

Position Overview

Perfume Unlimited LLC, a dynamic and growing company based in Jeddah, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant (Arabic Speaker) to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a bilingual professional with a strong command of Arabic and English, capable of ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with local regulations, and efficient day-to-day accounting operations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial health of our organization while supporting strategic decision-making through precise reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local accounting principles. Ensure timely submission of reports to management and regulatory authorities.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions. Post journal entries, verify account balances, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
• Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process and manage vendor invoices, expense reports, and customer billing with precision. Verify payments, track outstanding receivables, and liaise with stakeholders to resolve payment-related queries.
• Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory obligations. Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure full compliance.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and financial forecasts. Provide insights to support cost-control measures and strategic planning initiatives.
• Internal Controls and Audits: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets. Assist internal and external auditors during periodic reviews to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with departments such as procurement, sales, and operations to streamline financial processes and improve operational efficiency. Communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Arabic Language Proficiency: Utilize fluency in Arabic and English to draft financial documents, communicate with local vendors, and support business operations in the region. Serve as a liaison between the finance team and Arabic-speaking stakeholders when necessary.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or retail environment. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills. Strong knowledge of accounting software and financial management tools.
• Language Requirements: Fluency in both Arabic and English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate complex financial concepts into accessible language for diverse audiences.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Commitment to ethical standards and integrity in all financial dealings.
