Position Overview

Specialized Resources Co. Ltd. SRCO is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our dynamic team in Jeddah. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in accounting principles, exceptional analytical abilities, and a commitment to delivering precise and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of financial reports to management and stakeholders.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded, classified, and posted. Identify and resolve discrepancies to maintain the integrity of financial data.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice verification, payment processing, and collection activities. Monitor aging reports to mitigate financial risks and optimize cash flow.
• Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including Value Added Tax (VAT), Zakat, and other statutory obligations. Ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations to avoid penalties and optimize tax efficiency.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop and monitor annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans. Analyze variances and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Internal Controls & Audits: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and clarifications.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for cost optimization. Prepare ad-hoc reports and presentations to support management in evaluating business performance.
• System & Process Improvement: Recommend and implement improvements to accounting systems, processes, and controls to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability. Stay updated with industry best practices and technological advancements in accounting software.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or multinational environment. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) with advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros). Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards.
• Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Additional languages are a valuable asset.
