Senior Cargo Operations Agent - Jeddah

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Cargo Operations Agent to join our team in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing Cargo Operations and delivering exceptional Customer Service functions, including direct interaction with customers and Ground Handling Agents (GHA) for both import and export cargo. Your primary objective will be to secure operational and customer service excellence to ensure the station meets and exceeds its cargo targets. Compliance with all safety and security regulations, as mandated by both Host State and Company requirements, will be a critical aspect of this position. Additionally, you will identify opportunities to enhance cargo service quality and operational performance at the station.

Key Accountabilities

• Operational Planning and Customer Service: Collaborate with your immediate supervisor to develop and implement an effective operational plan that not only meets but surpasses revenue targets while delivering outstanding customer service.
• Liaison and Coordination: Act as a liaison between the local Ground Handling Agents, Head Office Cargo Department, and other stakeholders to ensure the highest quality of service is provided for both import and export operations.
• Oversight of GHA Routines: Monitor and oversee Ground Handling Agent routines to ensure seamless and efficient operational activities, maintaining smooth workflows and minimizing disruptions.
• Customer Support and Clearance: Provide essential support to import customers for the timely clearance of their cargo, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and avoiding penalties or delays.
• Flight Planning and Capacity Utilization: Engage in flight planning activities to maximize the utilization of flight capacity, with a focus on controlling and operating both export and import processes. Maintain close coordination with QR Space Control and customers to ensure shipments are transferred and delivered on time, with correct priority assigned to maximize aircraft space efficiency.
• Administrative Coordination: Coordinate with customers and Cargo Claims representatives at Head Office to address discrepancies at the station and manage all administrative issues related to station operations.
• Regulatory Compliance and Information Dissemination: Disseminate all cargo-related information to update customers on customs, governmental, and health authority regulations. Ensure compliance to avoid penalties, destruction of cargo, or other regulatory issues.
• Cargo Arrival Notifications: Ensure official notifications are sent regarding cargo arrival information to freight forwarders, agents, and direct customers. This will help prevent cargo from remaining under airline custody for extended periods, minimize damages, and optimize warehouse space availability.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, you will need the following qualifications and experience:

• A relevant vocational, tertiary, or trade qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Cargo Operations, including Acceptance, Office Administration, Warehouse Management, Ramp Operations, and Cargo Procedures for both export and import.
• Knowledge of Cargo Sales will be considered a significant advantage.
• Fluency in English is essential.
