About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Retail Accountant to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, where you will play a pivotal role in managing the financial and inventory operations of AOC. In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of inventory records, optimizing stock levels, and supporting strategic financial decision-making across our retail operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cost control, inventory management, and financial reporting, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive profitability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

As a Retail Accountant, your core responsibilities will include:

• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory costing, valuation, and stock accuracy to ensure alignment with financial and operational objectives. Monitor inventory movements between the ERP system, POS terminals, and physical stock to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely inventory and cost reports for management, providing insights into product margins, profitability, and pricing performance. Analyze stock variances and recommend corrective actions to minimize financial losses and improve operational efficiency.
• Collaboration and Strategy: Partner closely with Retail Operations, Procurement, and Finance teams to strengthen inventory controls, optimize stock levels, and enhance overall profitability. Monitor slow-moving, obsolete, and damaged inventory, offering data-driven recommendations to streamline stock management and reduce carrying costs.
• Audit and Compliance: Support monthly and annual stock counts and inventory audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. Maintain meticulous records and documentation to facilitate smooth audits and financial reviews.
• System and Process Improvement: Leverage advanced Microsoft Excel skills and ERP/POS system expertise to enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency. Identify opportunities to improve inventory tracking, costing methodologies, and financial processes to support scalable growth.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Cost Control, Inventory Control, or Retail Finance, with a proven track record in managing retail inventory operations.
• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex financial models and reports. Hands-on experience with ERP and POS systems is essential for seamless data integration and analysis.
• Analytical Abilities: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Ability to interpret financial data and translate it into actionable insights for management.
• Soft Skills: Strong integrity, commitment to ethical standards, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to liaise with stakeholders across departments.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following experience and skills are highly desirable:

• Industry Experience: Prior experience in Trading Card Games (e.g., Pokémon, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Magic: The Gathering), collectibles, hobby, gaming, or specialty retail industries. Understanding of unique inventory challenges in these sectors is a significant advantage.
• Financial Acumen: Knowledge of inventory valuation methods, pricing strategies, and gross margin management to drive profitability and competitive positioning.
• Multi-Store Operations: Experience supporting retail operations across multiple locations, with the ability to standardize processes and ensure consistency in financial and inventory controls.
