Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Compliance Specialist to join our esteemed team at Saudi Business Machines. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our IT solutions and services adhere to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of compliance frameworks, risk management, and governance principles, enabling them to develop and implement robust compliance strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Compliance Oversight: Monitor and assess compliance with local, regional, and international regulations, including data protection laws, cybersecurity standards, and industry-specific requirements. Ensure that all IT solutions and services align with applicable compliance frameworks.
- Policy Development and Implementation: Develop, review, and update compliance policies, procedures, and guidelines to reflect evolving regulatory landscapes and industry best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to these policies.
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential compliance gaps and vulnerabilities. Recommend and implement mitigation strategies to address risks and enhance the security posture of IT solutions.
- Audit and Inspection Support: Assist in preparing for and responding to internal and external audits, inspections, and assessments. Provide accurate documentation, evidence, and reports to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver compliance training programs to educate employees and stakeholders on regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and best practices. Foster a culture of compliance awareness across the organization.
- Vendor and Third-Party Compliance: Evaluate and monitor the compliance of third-party vendors, partners, and service providers to ensure they meet SBM’s standards and regulatory obligations. Address any non-compliance issues promptly and effectively.
- Incident Management and Reporting: Investigate compliance-related incidents, breaches, or violations, and coordinate with relevant teams to implement corrective actions. Ensure timely reporting of incidents to regulatory authorities, where required.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging regulatory trends, technological advancements, and industry standards. Recommend enhancements to compliance frameworks and processes to maintain alignment with evolving requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Education: A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Law, or a related field is required. A master’s degree or professional certifications in compliance, risk management, or cybersecurity (e.g., CISA, CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor) is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field, preferably within the IT or cybersecurity domain. Experience in the Middle East regulatory landscape is advantageous.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in compliance frameworks such as GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST, PCI-DSS, and local data protection laws. Familiarity with IT governance, cybersecurity principles, and enterprise architecture is essential.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess complex compliance requirements and identify practical solutions. Excellent problem-solving skills to address challenges and mitigate risks effectively.
- Communication and Collaboration: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to articulate compliance requirements, policies, and findings clearly. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels, from technical teams to senior management.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation, reporting, and compliance assessments. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
