Intercontinental Hub (ICH) Overview
The Intercontinental Hub (ICH) is a dynamic cluster within Lilly’s International Business Unit (IBU), encompassing emerging and high-potential markets across geographies with full-scale affiliate operations, distribution and promotion markets, and hybrid partnership structures. These markets, representing nearly 100 million people, are pivotal for expanding patient access and accelerating global revenue growth. Operating in complex environments, the ICH requires deep technical expertise, agility, and the ability to collaborate seamlessly across diverse settings.
Role Summary
The ICH New Product Planning (NPP) Lead – Oncology is a strategic role responsible for shaping the ICH pipeline vision and launch readiness strategy for the Oncology portfolio across all ICH affiliate markets and geographies. This position consolidates pipeline intelligence, business case development, and launch coordination at the ICH level, eliminating the need for per-country dedicated Oncology NPP resources. By serving all ICH affiliates, regardless of market archetype, the role ensures high-level strategic alignment and operational efficiency.
The ICH NPP Lead – Oncology will partner closely with Global, IBU, Regulatory, R&D, Medical Affairs, Commercial, PRA, and VEO teams, while coordinating with the ICH NPP Lead for Neuroscience/Immunology to maintain coherence across the High Specialty portfolio. Reporting to the AVP, ICH Strategic Capabilities & Transformation, this role operates under the ICX Office model as a cross-country resource, providing strategic guidance and support to the full ICH.
Basic Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MD, PharmD, or advanced scientific degree strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Marketing, New Product Planning, Market Access, or Strategy Consulting within the Oncology sector; prior experience launching oncology products in complex, multi-market environments is essential.
- Skills: Strong analytical, financial modeling, and scientific planning capabilities; proven ability to lead without direct authority across diverse affiliate and partner teams in all ICH geographies.
- Interpersonal & Communication: Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and executive presentation skills; international or multi-country experience required; exposure to ICH markets preferred.
- Language: Business-level proficiency in English required; additional regional language proficiency is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Pipeline Vision & Launch Readiness — Oncology
- Coordinate Oncology launch timelines and affiliate readiness reviews with Global, IBU, Regulatory, and affiliate commercial and medical teams across the full ICH.
- Lead the Oncology launch excellence framework across all ICH affiliates; identify opportunities to accelerate regulatory approval and market access across ICH geographies.
- Ensure Oncology launch readiness until transition to local brand teams; maintain strategic alignment and scientific rigor across all ICH affiliates, regardless of market archetype.
- Understand and communicate regulatory pathways, pricing and reimbursement requirements, and market differentiation needs specific to Oncology products across ICH markets.
Stakeholder Engagement & Pipeline Intelligence
- Actively partner with Global/IBU Oncology teams to align on pipeline priorities and launch strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather and analyze market intelligence, ensuring informed decision-making.
- Serve as a liaison between Global, IBU, and affiliate teams to facilitate seamless communication and execution.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Influence and drive alignment across diverse affiliate and partner teams without direct authority, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Provide strategic guidance to affiliate teams on Oncology product launches, ensuring adherence to global standards and local market needs.
- Support the development of business cases and financial models to evaluate the feasibility and impact of Oncology product launches in ICH markets.
