Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accounting Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of financial reporting and accounting processes across Almarai’s diverse business units. The position involves a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including:

• Financial Oversight: Lead the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in accordance with international accounting standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders, including senior management and external auditors.
• Strategic Financial Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement financial strategies that support Almarai’s long-term business objectives. This includes budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to drive informed decision-making.
• Compliance and Governance: Ensure adherence to corporate governance policies, internal controls, and audit requirements. The role will involve working closely with internal and external auditors to maintain the highest standards of financial integrity and transparency.
• Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development. The ability to inspire and guide a high-performing team is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess relevant experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Prior experience in a multinational corporation or a large-scale organization is preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of IFRS, local tax regulations, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are critical for interpreting financial data and providing actionable insights.
