Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Procurement Manager to join the team at Crowne Plaza Madinah, an IHG hotel in Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will oversee all procurement activities to ensure the hotel operates efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of quality and cost-effectiveness. As a key member of the hotel’s leadership team, you will collaborate closely with department heads, vendors, and stakeholders to align procurement strategies with the hotel’s operational and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Sourcing and Procurement: Develop and implement procurement strategies to secure high-quality goods and services at competitive prices, ensuring alignment with the hotel’s budget and operational needs.
• Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services while adhering to quality standards.
• Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock, optimizing procurement processes to minimize waste and reduce costs without compromising service quality.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities comply with local regulations, IHG policies, and ethical standards, mitigating risks associated with supply chain disruptions or non-compliance.
• Cost Optimization: Analyze spending patterns and identify opportunities for cost savings, implementing measures to enhance efficiency and profitability while maintaining service excellence.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the finance, operations, and maintenance teams to align procurement activities with the hotel’s overall business goals, ensuring seamless integration with daily operations.
• Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, including spending trends, vendor performance, and cost-saving initiatives, to senior management for informed decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPS, CSCP) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a managerial role within the hospitality or service industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Strong analytical and negotiation skills are essential.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are critical.
• Local Knowledge: Deep understanding of the Saudi market, including local suppliers, regulations, and cultural nuances, to ensure seamless procurement operations.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English and Arabic is required; additional languages are a valuable asset.
