Senior Engineer – Product Development (Cooling Systems, Data Center)

In this pivotal role, you will lead the design, development, and optimization of cutting-edge cooling solutions tailored for data center environments. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving innovation, ensuring energy efficiency, and maintaining operational excellence in our rapidly expanding portfolio of high-performance cooling technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Product Development Leadership: Spearhead the end-to-end development of advanced cooling systems, including chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, and liquid cooling solutions, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and energy efficiency.
• Technical Innovation: Research and integrate emerging technologies, such as AI-driven thermal management, immersion cooling, and modular cooling architectures, to enhance product performance and sustainability.
• Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams to translate conceptual designs into commercially viable products, ensuring alignment with market demands and regulatory standards.
• Data Center Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of data center thermal management challenges to develop solutions that optimize cooling efficiency, reduce power consumption, and support high-density computing environments.
• Prototyping & Testing: Oversee the prototyping, validation, and testing phases, including thermal performance analysis, reliability testing, and compliance with industry standards such as ASHRAE, ISO, and UL.
• Sustainability & Compliance: Ensure all product developments adhere to environmental regulations, energy efficiency mandates, and corporate sustainability goals, including adherence to LEED and other green building certifications.
• Project Management: Lead product development projects from inception to commercialization, managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder expectations while mitigating risks and resolving technical challenges.
• Customer & Market Insights: Collaborate with sales and customer support teams to gather market feedback, identify emerging trends, and incorporate customer requirements into product roadmaps.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a passion for innovation. The ideal candidate will have:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive experience in product development, with a strong focus on cooling systems, HVAC, or thermal management solutions. Prior experience in the data center or high-performance computing sectors is a significant advantage.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer principles, and cooling system design. Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., CFD, FEA) and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) is essential.
• Industry Standards & Certifications: Familiarity with ASHRAE, ISO, UL, and other relevant industry standards. Certifications such as LEED, PMP, or Six Sigma are a plus.
• Leadership & Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and drive collaborative problem-solving. Strong communication skills and a results-oriented mindset are critical.
• Problem-Solving & Innovation: A track record of developing innovative solutions to complex thermal management challenges, with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability.
