Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Assistant Engineer – SMP to join our dynamic team at Saudi Aramco. Key Responsibilities

The Lead Assistant Engineer – SMP will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including but not limited to:

• Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance and support to junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of innovation, efficiency, and adherence to best practices in safety and maintenance operations.
• Operational Oversight: Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of maintenance, safety, and production activities to ensure alignment with organizational goals and regulatory compliance.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and enhanced operational reliability through data analysis, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Safety and Compliance: Champion safety protocols, environmental standards, and industry regulations to maintain a secure and compliant workplace. Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to mitigate potential hazards.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) departments, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of objectives.
• Project Management: Support the execution of engineering projects, including scope definition, resource allocation, scheduling, and performance tracking to deliver results within budget and timeline constraints.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, technical documentation, and presentations to communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
• Training and Development: Mentor and train junior engineers and technical staff, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the transfer of critical knowledge and skills.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in engineering, maintenance, or production environments, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
• In-depth knowledge of SMP processes, safety management systems, and industry standards such as ISO, OSHA, and API.
• Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., SAP, CMMS, or similar) and strong analytical skills to interpret data and drive decision-making.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and levels of the organization.
• A strong commitment to safety, sustainability, and operational excellence, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Professional certifications such as PE (Professional Engineer), CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional), or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) are highly desirable.
