Role Overview

The Wooden Production Engineer will play a pivotal role in optimizing and overseeing production processes within ARFAD’s state-of-the-art facilities. This full-time, on-site position is based in Jubail and requires a proactive professional capable of driving operational efficiency, enhancing productivity, and maintaining stringent quality control standards. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including production staff, procurement, and project management, to ensure seamless execution of projects while adhering to deadlines and specifications. The role demands a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and strategic problem-solving to address challenges and streamline workflows in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Production Process Optimization: Analyze current production workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement improvements that enhance productivity, reduce waste, and elevate output quality.
• Production Planning and Coordination: Develop and manage detailed production plans, ensuring alignment with project timelines and client requirements. Monitor manufacturing schedules to prevent delays and maintain operational continuity.
• Quality Control and Compliance: Enforce rigorous quality control measures to ensure all wooden products, including doors, cabinetry, cladding, and custom joinery, meet international standards and project specifications. Review shop drawings and technical documents to verify compliance with approved designs.
• Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead and mentor production teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to drive team excellence.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the production department and the Projects Department to ensure seamless coordination. Address any discrepancies between production schedules and project timelines promptly and effectively.
• Project Support: Contribute to the successful execution of large-scale projects, such as hospitals, hotels, residential compounds, and high-end villas, by ensuring that production outputs align with architectural and engineering specifications.
• Material Optimization: Utilize expertise in material selection and procurement to minimize waste, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability without compromising product integrity.
• Technical and Regulatory Adherence: Stay abreast of industry best practices, safety standards, and international certifications, such as Intertek and LEED, to ensure all production processes and outputs meet or exceed regulatory requirements.
• ERP System Management: Leverage ERP systems, particularly Odoo, to streamline production tracking, inventory management, and reporting. Ensure accurate data entry and utilization to support informed decision-making.
• Supplier and Market Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of the Saudi market, including supplier networks, material pricing, and execution practices, to optimize procurement and production strategies.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Applied Arts or a related field, providing a strong foundation in wooden product design and manufacturing principles.
• A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in wooden manufacturing and joinery factories, with a proven track record in production management and process optimization.
• In-depth technical knowledge of wooden products, including doors, cabinetry, cladding, and custom joinery, along with expertise in large-scale project execution.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in supervising production teams and coordinating factory operations to achieve operational goals.
• Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot production challenges, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions that enhance efficiency and quality.
• Proven ability to review and interpret shop drawings, technical specifications, and project documentation to ensure production compliance.
• Experience collaborating with international consultants and adhering to diverse project specifications and standards.
• Familiarity with international certifications such as Intertek and LEED, and a commitment to maintaining high production standards.
• Proficiency in ERP systems, with a preference for experience with Odoo, to support production planning, inventory control, and reporting.
• A comprehensive understanding of the Saudi market, including supplier relationships, material costs, and industry execution practices.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to facilitate coordination with production teams, procurement, and project stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset, capable of driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Knowledge of industrial safety standards and manufacturing best practices to ensure a secure and compliant work environment.
