About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineering & Warehousing Engineer to join our dynamic team at Datamatics Technologies in Riyadh. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data pipelines, warehousing solutions, and ETL processes to ensure seamless data flow and accessibility across the organization. Your expertise will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform large volumes of structured and unstructured data from diverse sources, ensuring high performance and reliability.
• Data Warehousing Solutions: Develop and maintain enterprise-level data warehouses using modern technologies such as Snowflake, Redshift, or BigQuery, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility for end-users and analytics teams.
• ETL/ELT Processes: Implement and manage efficient Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) or Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) workflows to support data integration, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives.
• Data Modeling & Schema Design: Create and optimize data models, schemas, and database structures to enhance query performance, scalability, and ease of maintenance, adhering to best practices in data architecture.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data processing workflows, warehousing solutions, and query performance to ensure minimal latency and maximum efficiency in data delivery.
• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements, provide technical guidance, and deliver solutions that align with organizational goals.
• Data Governance & Security: Ensure compliance with data governance policies, industry regulations, and security standards by implementing robust access controls, encryption, and audit mechanisms to protect sensitive data.
• Cloud & On-Premises Integration: Leverage cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premises infrastructure to design hybrid data solutions that meet scalability, cost, and performance objectives.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architectures, workflows, and processes, and actively contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives to foster a culture of continuous learning within the team.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in data engineering principles, along with hands-on experience in designing and implementing modern data solutions. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and technical proficiencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications in data engineering, cloud platforms, or database management are a plus.
• Technical Expertise:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala for data processing and automation.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools like Apache Airflow, Talend, Informatica, or SSIS.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) databases.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka for handling large-scale data processing.
  • Expertise in cloud-based data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with data modeling, dimensional modeling, and schema design techniques.
• Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong analytical mindset, and the capacity to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment. Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are essential.
• Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of data governance, compliance frameworks (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA), and best practices in data security and privacy.
