Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Able Seaman (AB) to join our esteemed team aboard our passenger vessels. This is an immediate opportunity for an EU citizen to contribute to the safe and efficient operation of our fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of duties essential to the smooth functioning of the ship’s deck department, ensuring compliance with maritime regulations and maintaining the highest standards of safety and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Deck Operations: Perform routine and emergency deck duties, including mooring, unmooring, and cargo handling, while adhering to strict safety protocols.
• Navigation Support: Assist the navigation team in maintaining watch, operating deck equipment, and ensuring the vessel’s safe passage in accordance with international maritime laws.
• Maintenance and Inspection: Conduct regular maintenance of deck machinery, lifesaving appliances, and navigational aids, as well as participate in safety drills and inspections.
• Emergency Response: Actively participate in emergency drills, including fire-fighting, man-overboard, and abandon ship scenarios, to ensure preparedness and crew safety.
• Compliance and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deck activities, inspections, and maintenance tasks, ensuring full compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the deck crew and other departments to foster a cohesive and efficient operational environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Certification: Hold a valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) as an Able Seaman, issued by an EU maritime authority.
• Citizenship: Be a citizen of an EU member state to comply with employment and residency requirements.
• Experience: Demonstrate at least 12 months of relevant seafaring experience, preferably on passenger vessels, with a strong understanding of deck operations and safety procedures.
• Physical Fitness: Meet the physical demands of the role, including the ability to work in challenging weather conditions and perform strenuous tasks.
• Communication Skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to follow instructions and convey information clearly.
• Teamwork and Adaptability: Exhibit a proactive attitude, adaptability to changing conditions, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Contract Details

This is a temporary contract position with a duration of 3 months, offering a competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
