Key Responsibilities

The Senior Planning Engineer will play a critical role in the successful execution of projects by performing the following duties and responsibilities:

• Project Scheduling and Planning: Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using advanced planning tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar software. Ensure alignment with project milestones, contractual obligations, and client expectations.
• Resource Allocation and Optimization: Collaborate with project managers and site teams to allocate resources effectively, including labor, materials, and equipment. Monitor resource utilization to prevent bottlenecks and delays.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and constraints that may impact project timelines or budgets. Propose and implement mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth project progression.
• Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress through regular site visits, meetings, and data analysis. Prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders, highlighting deviations from the plan and recommending corrective actions.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a liaison between the planning team, site engineers, subcontractors, and clients. Facilitate clear communication to ensure all parties are aligned with project objectives and timelines.
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all project documentation, including schedules, reports, and change orders, complies with company policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records for audits and future reference.
• Continuous Improvement: Analyze project performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement. Recommend process enhancements to increase productivity and reduce project delivery times.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess relevant experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in construction planning and scheduling, with at least 3-5 years in a senior or lead role. Experience in large-scale infrastructure, commercial, or residential projects in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, cost control, and resource management.
• Analytical Abilities: Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
• Communication and Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Certifications: Valid engineering license (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent) is a plus.
