Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tailor to join our team, providing exceptional personal service to clients through expert garment modifications, repairs, and adjustments. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong technical abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality craftsmanship. This role involves collaborating closely with clients to understand their needs, executing precise alterations, and ensuring customer satisfaction through meticulous fittings and follow-up adjustments.

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Service and Communication: Deliver personalized service by clearly understanding and addressing each client’s unique requirements. Maintain professional and courteous interactions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Garment Alterations and Repairs: Perform a wide range of alterations, including hemming, taking in or letting out seams, adjusting waistlines, and repairing damaged garments. Utilize both hand-sewing techniques and industrial sewing machines to achieve flawless results.
• Pattern Development and Adaptation: Create custom patterns or modify existing ones to meet specific client needs. This includes drafting new patterns from scratch or adjusting existing designs to ensure a perfect fit.
• Deadline Management: Work efficiently to meet client deadlines without compromising on quality. Prioritize tasks to accommodate urgent requests while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
• Fitting and Final Adjustments: Conduct thorough fittings to assess the fit and appearance of altered garments. Make necessary adjustments based on client feedback to ensure complete satisfaction before finalizing the work.
• Pressing and Finishing: Utilize professional pressing techniques to achieve a polished, professional finish on all garments. Ensure that every piece meets the highest standards of presentation.
• Additional Duties: Undertake any other related tasks as assigned by management, including inventory management, equipment maintenance, or assisting with special projects as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

The successful candidate will have a strong background in tailoring, garment construction, or a related field. Proficiency in both hand-sewing and machine sewing is essential, along with the ability to interpret and adapt patterns. Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach are critical to thriving in this role. Prior experience in a retail or bespoke tailoring environment is a plus.
