Legal Senior Researcher

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Legal Senior Researcher to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

• Policy and Guideline Development: Draft comprehensive legal lawsuit management policies, guidelines, and standardized model forms tailored to ZATCA’s operational framework.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance legal systems, processes, and practices by researching global best practices and emerging trends in the legal domain.
• Template Creation: Develop and maintain relevant templates for lawsuit management services across all ZATCA functions to streamline legal operations.
• Strategic Negotiation Support: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assist in formulating effective negotiating strategies for managing legal cases.
• Database Management: Ensure the continuous updating of lawsuit management database systems, maintaining accurate and up-to-date request logs.
• Preliminary Case Evaluation: Conduct preliminary assessments to determine the severity and urgency of litigation cases posed against ZATCA, providing actionable insights for case prioritization.
• Legal Representation Support: Assist in representing ZATCA in legal proceedings, including cases before judicial bodies, committees, and governmental authorities, ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared and available.
• Settlement Preparation: Prepare settlements for negotiation with employees and external entities involved in lawsuits against ZATCA, excluding audit and collection-related settlements.
• Judgment Archiving: Maintain a comprehensive archive of all judgments from lawsuits won by ZATCA for future reference and legal precedent.
• External Legal Expert Engagement: Identify and engage outsourced legal experts to provide specialized legal advice for managing internal and external litigation cases outside the scope of tax, zakat, and customs.
• Compliance and Consistency: Adhere to all relevant policies, processes, and standard operating procedures to ensure work is conducted in a controlled and consistent manner.
• Problem Resolution and Mentorship: Address escalated issues and provide support to junior team members to facilitate efficient and effective workflows. Escalate complex problems to the appropriate stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.

Qualifications and Competencies

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies or an equivalent qualification is required.
• Experience: A minimum of four years of relevant professional experience in a legal research or related capacity is essential.
