Electrical Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Technician to join our team, where you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimizing our Building Management System (BMS) and Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems. Reporting directly to the Project Manager or Control Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of critical building infrastructure while troubleshooting and resolving technical issues to minimize downtime. This role demands a strong foundation in electrical systems, HVAC operations, and fire safety protocols, particularly within high-demand commercial and warehouse environments.

Key Responsibilities

• System Monitoring and Maintenance: Oversee the daily performance of the BMS and HVAC systems, conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal functionality and energy efficiency.
• Technical Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Diagnose and resolve elevated technical issues by validating problems, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions to restore system operations promptly.
• Comprehensive System Knowledge: Demonstrate a solid understanding of AC systems, electrical wiring, plumbing, and fire alarm systems, with a focus on their integration within busy commercial buildings and warehouses.
• BMS and Field Device Expertise: Perform BMS panel operations and field device termination tasks with precision, ensuring seamless communication and control across all connected systems.
• Testing and Commissioning: Participate in BMS testing and commissioning activities, verifying system performance and compliance with industry standards before deployment or after modifications.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) staff and third-party vendors to facilitate maintenance activities, ensuring alignment with project timelines and safety protocols.
• Interpretation of Technical Drawings: Analyze BMS drawings, including pipe layouts, ductwork, containment systems, and other MEP installations, to ensure accurate implementation and troubleshooting.
• Site Verification and Compliance: Conduct regular site verifications to assess system performance, identify potential issues, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety.
• Process Improvement: Propose and implement changes to system configurations, operational methods, and maintenance procedures to drive continuous improvement and cost savings.
• Safety and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure full compliance with local safety regulations and standards, providing clear instructions to team members to maintain a secure working environment and mitigate risks.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a technical diploma or certification in electrical engineering, HVAC, or a related field, along with hands-on experience in BMS and HVAC systems within commercial or industrial settings. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, along with excellent communication skills, will further enhance your ability to contribute effectively to our operations.
