IT Security Specialist

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled and proactive IT Security Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a professional with at least two years of hands-on experience in enterprise network and security operations, who is eager to safeguard our organization’s digital infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing our security posture by leveraging expertise in Network Access Control (NAC), Aruba ClearPass, and multi-layer firewall environments, including perimeter, extranet, and data center firewalls.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Security Specialist will be responsible for the following core duties:

• Security Infrastructure Management: Oversee and maintain enterprise security infrastructure across perimeter, extranet, and data center firewall environments to ensure robust protection against cyber threats.
• Aruba ClearPass Administration: Administer and optimize Aruba ClearPass NAC for endpoint authentication, device profiling, granular access control, and policy enforcement to enhance network security.
• Firewall Configuration & Optimization: Configure, optimize, and manage firewall policies, NAT rules, Access Control Lists (ACLs), VPN access, and security zones to maintain a secure and efficient network environment.
• Threat Detection & Monitoring: Proactively monitor firewall logs, NAC alerts, VPN activity, and security events to identify anomalies, potential threats, and security incidents, ensuring timely response and mitigation.
• Network Segmentation: Implement and enforce network segmentation strategies to isolate users, servers, data centers, third-party networks, and internet-facing services, adhering to Zero Trust principles.
• Change Management & Access Controls: Review and approve firewall change requests while enforcing access controls based on industry security best practices and compliance requirements.
• Vulnerability & Patch Management: Lead vulnerability remediation efforts, coordinate patch management activities, and perform system hardening to minimize security risks and enhance resilience.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with network, infrastructure, and application teams to resolve complex security and connectivity issues, fostering a collaborative and secure operational environment.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for firewall rules, NAC policies, access control procedures, and audit requirements to ensure transparency and regulatory compliance.

Required Skills & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Professional Experience: Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in IT Security or Network Security roles, with a proven track record in managing enterprise security solutions.
• Technical Proficiency: Extensive experience with Aruba ClearPass and NAC solutions, along with strong knowledge of perimeter, extranet, and data center firewalls such as Fortinet, Palo Alto, or equivalent platforms.
• Network Security Expertise: In-depth understanding of VPN (IPSec/SSL), NAT, ACL, and security zone configuration, coupled with experience in implementing network segmentation and Zero Trust principles.
• Analytical Capabilities: Ability to analyze logs, alerts, and security events to detect vulnerabilities, anomalies, and potential threats, enabling proactive risk mitigation.
• Remediation & Hardening: Experience in vulnerability remediation, patch management, and system hardening to strengthen the organization’s security posture.
• Communication & Documentation: Exceptional documentation skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in both English and Arabic is mandatory to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration within the team.

Education & Certifications

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field. While certifications are not mandatory, they are highly valued and may include:

• Aruba ClearPass Associate or Professional certification
• Fortinet NSE certification
• Palo Alto PCNSA or PCNSE certification
• CCNA Security certification
