Role Overview

We are currently seeking a seasoned Database Supervisor to oversee and optimize our enterprise database environments. This critical role requires a highly skilled professional to ensure high availability, robust security, and peak performance across mission-critical systems. The successful candidate will lead database administration activities, spearhead performance optimization initiatives, and implement effective backup and recovery strategies to support uninterrupted business operations. This position is ideal for a dedicated database expert with extensive Oracle experience, a keen analytical mindset, and a passion for maintaining reliable, secure, and high-performing database infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities

• Database Administration: Manage and maintain enterprise Oracle database environments to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
• Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor database performance, availability, and capacity utilization to proactively identify and resolve potential issues.
• Oracle Environment Management: Configure and manage Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), Data Guard, and Recovery Manager (RMAN) environments to enhance reliability and disaster recovery capabilities.
• System Upgrades & Maintenance: Execute database installations, upgrades, migrations, and patch management to keep systems current and secure.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze and optimize SQL queries, PL/SQL code, and overall database performance to maximize efficiency and responsiveness.
• Backup & Recovery: Implement and maintain comprehensive backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical data and ensure business continuity.
• Troubleshooting & Analysis: Diagnose database issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and disruptions.
• Security & Compliance: Enforce database security protocols, manage user access controls, and ensure adherence to organizational and industry standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with application, infrastructure, and cybersecurity teams to support and enhance business applications and systems.
• Documentation & Reporting: Develop and maintain technical documentation, database health reports, and operational recommendations to support decision-making and compliance efforts.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance database reliability, scalability, and performance through innovation and best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in Database Administration, with a strong focus on Oracle Database environments.
• Proven expertise in managing Oracle RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, and performance tuning in enterprise settings.
• Oracle Database certifications are highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Oracle Database Administration, Oracle RAC, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, SQL, and PL/SQL.
• Performance & Security: Expertise in database performance tuning, security management, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
• Operational Excellence: Strong capabilities in backup and recovery, high availability, disaster recovery, and root cause analysis.
• System Administration: Familiarity with Linux administration and enterprise-level database environments.
• Analytical & Documentation Skills: Ability to interpret complex data, create detailed technical documentation, and provide actionable operational recommendations.
