Life Guard

Position Overview

We are seeking a vigilant and proactive Life Guard to ensure the safety and well-being of guests at our premier recreational facility in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires a strong commitment to maintaining a secure and enjoyable environment for all visitors. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional observational skills, a keen awareness of safety protocols, and the ability to respond swiftly to emergencies. As a Life Guard, you will play a pivotal role in upholding the highest standards of guest service while ensuring compliance with all facility regulations and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

The Life Guard will be responsible for monitoring the swimming area to identify potential hazards, unsafe activities, or guests in distress. Your duties will include:

• Safety Enforcement: Implementing appropriate rescue techniques to assist swimmers in need, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Environmental Monitoring: Scanning the pool area for dangerous conditions, such as slippery surfaces or overcrowding, and taking corrective action as necessary.
• Guest Assistance: Providing immediate aid to injured or distressed guests until professional medical services arrive.
• Facility Maintenance: Obtaining, folding, and stacking towels according to established procedures, as well as washing, mopping, and cleaning the pool deck to maintain a pristine environment.
• Emergency Reporting: Documenting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions, and promptly reporting them to management. Completing all required safety training and certifications.
• Guest Engagement: Welcoming and acknowledging guests in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring their comfort and satisfaction. Assisting individuals with disabilities and addressing their needs with empathy and respect.
• Team Collaboration: Supporting colleagues with dignity and respect, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. Adhering to company policies and maintaining the confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Operational Compliance: Following quality assurance standards and visually inspecting tools and equipment to identify defects. Performing job duties with speed and efficiency, including running, walking, or jogging as required.

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including:

• Standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods, including entire work shifts.
• Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds independently, and objects exceeding 75 pounds with assistance.
• Grasping, turning, and manipulating objects with precision, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Navigating sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and service ramps.
• Reaching overhead and below knee level, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Requirements

To qualify for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certifications are mandatory. Additional certifications or training may be required by local and state agencies.
• Experience: While prior work experience is not required, a strong background in lifeguarding, emergency response, or customer service is highly desirable.
