Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accounting Officer will be entrusted with a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

• Financial Leadership: Provide strategic direction and oversight for accounting operations across all business units, ensuring alignment with corporate financial goals and regulatory requirements.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Financial Reporting & Compliance: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory frameworks. Act as a key liaison with external auditors to facilitate seamless audit processes.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with senior management to develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and financial forecasts, identifying trends and providing actionable insights to support decision-making.
• Internal Controls & Risk Management: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets, mitigate financial risks, and ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures.
• Process Optimization: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce operational costs without compromising quality or compliance.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, providing clear and concise financial insights to support strategic initiatives and business growth.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a large organization. Prior experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector is advantageous.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), advanced Excel skills, and a strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards.
• Leadership & Soft Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, communicate complex financial concepts clearly, and influence stakeholders at all levels. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are essential.
