Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement engineering strategies that enhance productivity, efficiency, and sustainability across farming operations. Collaborate with senior management to align engineering initiatives with corporate goals.
• Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Infrastructure Oversight: Ensure the optimal performance and maintenance of farming infrastructure, including irrigation systems, machinery, and automation technologies. Identify opportunities for modernization and cost optimization.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all engineering practices and infrastructure meet local and international regulatory standards, including safety, environmental, and quality benchmarks. Implement best practices to mitigate risks and enhance operational resilience.
• Innovation and Sustainability: Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices to reduce environmental impact, improve resource efficiency, and support Almarai’s commitment to sustainable agriculture.
• Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage annual budgets for engineering projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or safety. Monitor expenditures and report on financial performance to senior leadership.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other divisions, including procurement, operations, and R&D, to integrate engineering solutions that enhance overall business performance and innovation.
• Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of engineering initiatives. Regularly assess progress and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve operational targets.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, PE) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership role within the agricultural or farming sector. Experience in large-scale farming operations or agribusiness is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in modern farming technologies, automation systems, and engineering software. Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, machinery maintenance, and sustainable agricultural practices.
• Leadership and Soft Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, with excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in project management, safety, or environmental sustainability are advantageous.
