Job Purpose

The SharePoint Developer plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining SharePoint-based solutions that enhance operational efficiency, collaboration, and compliance across marine operations, offshore construction projects, vessel management, and corporate departments such as HR, Administration, and Finance. The position is instrumental in modernizing document control, workflow automation, and information governance to support both onshore and offshore teams in achieving their strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

The SharePoint Developer will be responsible for the following core functions:

• Intranet Development and Maintenance: Design, develop, configure, and maintain the company’s intranet using SharePoint Online to ensure seamless information sharing and collaboration.
• Customization and Configuration: Tailor SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, web parts, and permissions to align with the company’s evolving business requirements and operational needs.
• Power Platform Integration: Develop and maintain Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and SharePoint Framework (SPFx) components to automate processes and enhance user productivity.
• Document Control and Security: Implement robust document control mechanisms, including read-only access, version control, and check-in/check-out policies, to protect critical operational, engineering, contractual, HR, cybersecurity, and compliance documents. Utilize SharePoint permission settings, Information Rights Management (IRM), sensitivity labels via Microsoft Purview, and retention policies to ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements, including Saudi Arabia’s PDPL.
• Workflow Automation: Translate complex business processes—such as HR policy documentation, HSE reporting, maintenance tracking, facility administration, recruitment, and transportation—into automated SharePoint workflows to streamline operations and reduce manual intervention.
• Microsoft 365 Integration: Integrate SharePoint solutions with Microsoft 365 tools, including Teams, Outlook, OneDrive, and Power BI, to create a cohesive digital workplace environment.
• Cross-System Integration: Support the integration of SharePoint with department-specific systems, such as Oracle, financial management platforms, maintenance systems, helpdesk solutions, social media, and the company’s external website, to enhance data consistency and operational efficiency.
• Technical Support and Training: Provide expert technical support, troubleshooting, and enhancements for SharePoint users across all shore-based offices. Develop comprehensive user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and conduct training sessions to drive adoption and ensure effective utilization of SharePoint solutions.
• Compliance and Security: Ensure all SharePoint solutions adhere to IT and cybersecurity policies, data governance frameworks, and industry-specific regulations such as ISM, ISPS, and ISO standards. Maintain role-based access controls, data integrity, version control, and robust backup policies to safeguard critical information.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of the latest Microsoft 365 and SharePoint updates, identifying opportunities to digitize and streamline operational processes to drive innovation and efficiency across the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 6 to 8 years of professional experience in IT, software development, systems engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven track record of working within the Oil & Gas industry, with a deep understanding of its processes, standards, and technological landscape.
