Tech Information Security Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tech Information Security Engineer to join our team. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in fortifying our cybersecurity posture by executing a wide range of responsibilities, including:

• Cybersecurity Solution Deployment and Management: Install, configure, and maintain advanced cybersecurity solutions such as Firewalls, Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Vulnerability Management platforms, and Email Security solutions to ensure robust protection across all digital environments.
• Threat Monitoring and Incident Response: Proactively monitor security events, investigate potential threats, and execute timely responses to mitigate risks. Your vigilance will be crucial in identifying vulnerabilities and preventing security breaches before they escalate.
• Vulnerability Assessment and Remediation: Conduct comprehensive vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses in our systems. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to prioritize and coordinate remediation efforts, ensuring that security gaps are addressed efficiently and effectively.
• Network and Application Security Management: Oversee DDoS protection mechanisms, enforce web application security policies, and manage network security controls to maintain a resilient and secure infrastructure.
• Security Solution Optimization: Ensure that all deployed security solutions are operating at peak performance and are fully aligned with organizational security policies, industry best practices, and compliance mandates.
• Reporting and Continuous Improvement: Prepare detailed security reports, documentation, and actionable recommendations to support ongoing enhancements to our cybersecurity framework. Your insights will drive continuous improvement in our security posture.

Requirements

To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and possess the necessary technical expertise:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or specialized certifications are a plus.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of three years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity operations or security engineering is essential. Prior roles in security administration, threat analysis, or incident response are highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated experience with a variety of cybersecurity solutions, including but not limited to:
  • Fortinet / FortiGate Firewalls
  • CrowdStrike Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
  • Cloudflare for Web Application Firewall (WAF) and DDoS Protection
  • Email Security Gateways
  • Vulnerability Management Platforms such as Tenable, Nessus, and Qualys
• Knowledge and Skills: A strong understanding of network security principles, threat detection methodologies, incident response protocols, and security best practices is critical. Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls is advantageous.
• Certifications: Relevant industry certifications such as Security+, Network Security Expert (NSE), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or equivalent credentials are preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.
