E&S Engineer - Construction Phase Compliance Specialist

The E&S Engineer is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring environmental and social compliance during the construction phase of our projects. This involves implementing and monitoring environmental and social management plans, conducting inspections and audits, and coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to integrate E&S requirements into project activities.

• Key Accountabilities:
• Implement and monitor the Construction Environmental and Social Management Plan (CESMP).
• Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with environmental and social requirements.
• Identify and assess environmental and social risks, and develop mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with relevant environmental permits, licenses, and approvals.
• Manage waste disposal and pollution control measures during construction.
• Monitor and report on environmental and social performance indicators.
• Collaborate with construction teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance and address concerns.
• Provide training and awareness programs on environmental and social issues to construction personnel.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of environmental and social performance.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Stay updated on relevant environmental and social regulations and standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental and social management, preferably in construction projects. Strong knowledge of international and local environmental and social regulations and standards, experience in conducting audits and inspections, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
