Care Technician

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Care Technician to join our team at The Ritz-Carlton, Ummahat Islands 2-3, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for performing scheduled preventative maintenance across guest rooms, meeting spaces, and public areas to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness, functionality, and guest satisfaction. Your expertise will contribute directly to maintaining the property’s reputation for luxury and excellence, aligning with The Ritz-Carlton’s renowned Gold Standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Care Technician, your daily duties will encompass a wide range of maintenance and housekeeping tasks to uphold the property’s pristine condition. Your responsibilities will include:

• Preventative Maintenance: Conducting routine inspections and maintenance in guest rooms, meeting rooms, and public spaces, including flipping and inspecting mattresses, box springs, and assembling bed frames. This also involves vacuuming behind and underneath furniture, spot cleaning carpets and upholstery, dusting, and performing touch-up painting and furniture repairs.
• Room Inspections: Ensuring all necessary hardware and appliances are present and in working order. This includes replacing light fixtures, inspecting and repairing grout and caulking, and performing miscellaneous repairs such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls.
• General Cleaning: Maintaining the cleanliness of all guestroom surfaces, including tubs, wall tiles, hard floors, walls, windows, and mirrors, in accordance with property standards and guidelines.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhering to all company safety and security policies, reporting accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management, and completing required safety training and certifications. Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets are also critical aspects of this role.
• Guest Interaction: Welcoming and acknowledging guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs, and developing positive working relationships with colleagues to support team goals.
• Physical Demands: Performing tasks that require reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. You will also be responsible for moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds, with occasional assistance for heavier items. The role may require standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods or throughout an entire shift.
• Additional Duties: Undertaking other reasonable job duties as requested by management to support the operational needs of the property.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Education: A high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Experience: Prior work experience in maintenance, housekeeping, or a related field is preferred, though less than one year of experience is acceptable.
• Physical Requirements: The ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods, is essential.
• Professionalism: A commitment to maintaining a clean and professional appearance, adhering to company policies, and upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity.
