Position Overview

We are currently seeking a seasoned and highly motivated Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor to lead field construction, installation, testing, and commissioning activities for industrial projects in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supervising Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) works, ensuring all operations are executed with the utmost safety, efficiency, and adherence to project specifications, client requirements, quality standards, and timelines. This position demands strong leadership capabilities, effective coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and hands-on experience in managing complex brownfield industrial environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing critical aspects of E&I installations, from initial planning to final commissioning, while maintaining rigorous compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Field Supervision: Oversee all Electrical & Instrumentation construction activities on-site, ensuring alignment with project plans and safety protocols.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Collaborate daily with construction, engineering, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), commissioning, and client representatives to streamline workflows and resolve operational challenges.
• Technical Review: Analyze engineering drawings, Issued for Construction (IFC) documents, technical specifications, method statements, and work procedures to validate compliance before execution.
• Installation Oversight: Supervise the installation of critical E&I components, including:
  • Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) systems
  • Cable trays and ladders
  • Power and control cabling
  • Instrument cable installation
  • Junction boxes and marshalling cabinets
  • Field instruments and control panels
  • Earthing and lightning protection systems
  • Lighting systems and electrical equipment
• Testing and Commissioning: Coordinate testing, pre-commissioning, loop checking, energization, and commissioning activities to ensure seamless project execution.
• Project Execution: Ensure all tasks are completed in accordance with project schedules, approved quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Workforce and Resource Management: Monitor contractor productivity, workforce allocation, and material availability in collaboration with procurement and warehouse teams.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare daily progress reports, maintain accurate construction records, and support punch list clearance and mechanical completion activities.
• HSE Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) regulations, permit-to-work systems, and safety protocols to mitigate risks and ensure a secure work environment.
• Project Handover Support: Assist in the final documentation, handover processes, and post-project reviews to ensure a smooth transition to operations.

Required Competencies

• Planning and Organization: Exceptional skills in project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet critical deadlines.
• Industrial Experience: Extensive background in industrial construction, particularly within brownfield and shutdown environments.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Electrical & Instrumentation installation practices, QA/QC requirements, and inspection methodologies.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with industry standards such as Saudi Aramco, SABIC, SEC, SASREF, SATORP, or equivalent specifications.
• Technical Aptitude: Ability to interpret electrical and instrumentation drawings, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
• Communication and Coordination: Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills to facilitate effective collaboration across all project teams.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated capacity to analyze complex challenges, make informed decisions, and drive solutions under pressure.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Experience: Minimum of 12 to 15 years of progressive experience in Electrical & Instrumentation construction, with a focus on:
  • Oil & Gas projects
  • Petrochemical plants
  • Refineries
  • Power plants
  • Heavy industrial EPC projects
• Industry Exposure: Prior experience with major clients such as Saudi Aramco, SASREF, SABIC, SEC, Petro Rabigh, SATORP, Ma’aden, or similar organizations is highly advantageous.
• Team Leadership: Proven track record in supervising multicultural construction teams in challenging industrial settings.
• Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with testing and commissioning activities is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Primavera P6, and AutoCAD is considered a valuable asset.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to articulate technical information clearly and concisely.
