Key Responsibilities

• System Design and Optimization: Develop, analyze, and optimize mechanical systems, components, and processes to enhance performance, reduce downtime, and improve energy efficiency. Utilize advanced engineering tools and software to simulate and validate designs.
• Mechanical Operations Management: Oversee daily mechanical operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. Implement best practices to maintain operational integrity and reliability.
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Diagnose complex mechanical issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions to minimize disruptions and enhance system longevity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve operational challenges.
• Maintenance Planning and Execution: Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to extend the lifespan of mechanical equipment and reduce unplanned downtime. Monitor maintenance activities and ensure adherence to schedules and quality standards.
• Technical Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including engineering drawings, reports, and manuals. Maintain accurate records of system performance, maintenance activities, and compliance documentation for audits and regulatory reviews.
• Team Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Provide guidance on mechanical engineering best practices and operational excellence.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with project managers, clients, and external stakeholders to align mechanical operations with project goals and deliverables. Ensure clear communication of technical requirements and constraints.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PE, CEng) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or SME capacity within mechanical operations. Experience in industrial, oil & gas, or manufacturing sectors is preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks), simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB), and maintenance management systems (e.g., CMMS).
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical abilities to assess complex mechanical systems and develop data-driven solutions. Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
• Leadership and Communication: Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and guide teams. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey technical information effectively to diverse audiences.
• Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, API) and regulatory requirements governing mechanical operations and safety.
• Safety and Risk Management: Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and mitigating operational risks through proactive measures and adherence to safety protocols.
