Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated After Market Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as a technical expert, providing advanced support and solutions to enhance customer relationships and drive business growth. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of activities, from offering technical guidance and developing retrofit solutions to analyzing vibration data and assisting in troubleshooting. This position requires a deep understanding of rotating equipment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional service and innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Support and Customer Engagement: Provide accurate, timely, and advanced technical information, advice, and assistance to the After Market Commercial Operations Team (COT) and customers. Collaborate directly with customers, including participating in meetings and on-site visits when necessary, to address technical inquiries and support sales initiatives.
• Retrofit Solutions and Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility studies for pump retrofits, considering both hydraulic and mechanical aspects. Develop preliminary drawings and technical solutions tailored to specific applications, ensuring alignment with customer requirements and organizational guidelines.
• Development of New Services: Work closely with the AM & Services Director and AM Engineering Manager to innovate and expand the aftermarket service portfolio. This includes creating technical solutions for specific applications, developing tools to streamline retrofit quotations, and enhancing after-sales service offerings.
• Field Service Support: Provide technical guidance and support to field service teams during on-site activities. Assist Commissioning and Warranty Managers in defining solutions for customer technical claims, including root cause analysis and troubleshooting when required.
• Service Center Collaboration: Support Service Centers by escalating and resolving technical issues, offering guidance on pump overhauls, maintenance, and retrofits. Ensure high standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction.
• Vibration Data Analysis: Perform high-level analysis of vibration data, including spectrum analysis, time waveform assessment, acceleration envelopes, and orbit analysis. Provide detailed feedback on the health of rotating machinery based on vibration data and other instrument readings, such as bearing temperature and process data.
• Best Practices and Training: Contribute to the development of best practices for field service engineers and Service Centers, particularly in vibration monitoring. Provide training on basic vibration analysis and the use of specific condition monitoring tools. Offer technical insights to other departments, such as engineering and R&D, on vibration-related topics.
• Remote Condition Monitoring: Actively contribute to the development and implementation of techniques for remote condition monitoring systems, ensuring alignment with system development schedules and targets.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a strong educational background and relevant experience in rotating equipment. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

• Education: A degree in mechanical engineering, preferably a master’s degree or a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience in rotating equipment.
• Technical Proficiency: Complete autonomy in using MS Office software, including advanced spreadsheet calculations and macros. Proficiency in PTC Creo for both 3D and 2D modeling is essential. Experience with FEM packages such as PTC Simulate, Xlrotor, Madyn, or Ansys is a plus. Knowledge of software programming for calculations and big data analysis (e.g., Scilab, Matlab, or equivalent) is also advantageous.
• Core Competencies: Strong knowledge of centrifugal pumps and rotating machinery, along with a solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and 2D drawing comprehension.
• Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): A commitment to observing and promoting workplace safety regulations and environmental protection measures. Act as a proactive advocate for safety, contributing to the fulfillment of health and safety obligations in collaboration with management and designated safety personnel.
