Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to the overall financial health of our organization. Key Responsibilities

The Accountant will play a critical role in managing day-to-day financial operations and supporting strategic decision-making processes. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), as applicable. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of financial reports to stakeholders.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and classified. Monitor account balances, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions to maintain financial integrity.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, including processing invoices, verifying payments, and managing vendor and customer relationships. Ensure timely and accurate processing to optimize cash flow and minimize financial risks.
• Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations. Collaborate with external tax advisors to identify opportunities for tax savings and mitigate potential liabilities.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the budgeting process by preparing financial forecasts, analyzing variances, and providing actionable insights to senior management. Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and recommend adjustments as necessary.
• Internal Controls & Audits: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Coordinate with internal and external auditors during annual audits, providing documentation and addressing audit findings promptly.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement. Prepare ad-hoc reports and presentations to support strategic initiatives and decision-making processes.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, operations, and executive leadership, to provide financial guidance and support. Communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-financial stakeholders.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, or CMA) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or industry-specific environment. Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) is highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Familiarity with financial reporting tools and data visualization platforms is a valuable asset.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and analytical abilities to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights. Strong problem-solving skills to address complex financial challenges.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey financial information to diverse audiences. Ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
