Junior Accountant

Key Responsibilities

The Junior Accountant will be responsible for a diverse range of financial tasks, including but not limited to:

• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Compile, analyze, and present financial statements to support strategic decision-making. Prepare ad-hoc reports tailored to the evolving needs of the business, ensuring clarity and precision in financial data interpretation.
• Tax Compliance and Documentation: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax documents, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. Collaborate with tax advisors to optimize tax strategies and minimize liabilities while maintaining full compliance.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts by analyzing historical data, identifying trends, and providing actionable insights. Monitor budget performance and recommend adjustments to align with organizational goals.
• Bank Reconciliations and Audits: Conduct regular bank reconciliations to verify the accuracy of financial transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly. Participate in cyclical audits, both internal and external, to ensure the integrity of financial records and adherence to accounting principles.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and executive leadership, to provide financial insights and support data-driven decision-making processes.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution. Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are a plus but not required.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of financial software and tools, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) is highly desirable.
• Analytical and Communication Skills: The ability to interpret complex financial statements and periodicals with accuracy and clarity. Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate financial insights to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
