About the Role

As the Director of Governance, Risk, and Control Lead at Qiddiya Investment Company, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our governance, risk management, and internal control frameworks. Key Responsibilities

• Governance Leadership: Develop, implement, and oversee the company’s governance framework to align with best practices and regulatory requirements. This includes defining policies, procedures, and governance models that enhance transparency, accountability, and ethical decision-making at all levels of the organization.
• Risk Management Oversight: Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks across the enterprise. Collaborate with senior management and business units to integrate risk management into strategic planning, ensuring that potential threats are proactively addressed and opportunities are leveraged.
• Internal Control Systems: Design, implement, and monitor internal control systems to safeguard the company’s assets, ensure financial integrity, and prevent fraud. Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of these systems and recommend enhancements to address emerging risks and regulatory changes.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Stay abreast of evolving regulatory requirements and proactively adjust governance, risk, and control frameworks to maintain compliance and mitigate legal exposure.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive leadership team, board members, and external stakeholders on governance, risk, and control matters. Facilitate open communication channels to promote a shared understanding of risk appetite and control priorities.
• Team Leadership and Development: Build and lead a high-performing team of governance, risk, and control professionals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional development to ensure the team remains at the forefront of industry best practices.
• Reporting and Communication: Prepare comprehensive reports for the board of directors, senior management, and regulatory bodies, providing clear insights into the company’s risk profile, control environment, and governance performance. Tailor communication to different audiences to ensure alignment and understanding.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess a combination of advanced education, professional certifications, and extensive experience in governance, risk management, and internal controls. A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required, with a master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CIA, CRMA, or CGEIT) strongly preferred. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in governance, risk, and control functions, including at least 5 years in a leadership role, is essential. Experience within the investment, real estate, or infrastructure sectors is highly desirable, given Qiddiya Investment Company’s focus areas.

You should demonstrate a deep understanding of international governance frameworks (e.g., OECD Principles, COSO, ISO 31000) and regional regulatory requirements. Strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders are critical. Proficiency in risk management software, data analytics tools, and enterprise resource planning systems will be advantageous. Fluency in English is required, and proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
