Key Responsibilities

• System Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs on mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment to ensure seamless operations and compliance with industry standards.
• Equipment Optimization: Analyze mechanical systems to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost reduction, and performance enhancement, while implementing innovative solutions to drive continuous operational excellence.
• Safety and Compliance: Uphold stringent safety protocols and regulatory requirements to create a secure working environment. Conduct risk assessments, implement safety measures, and ensure adherence to local and international standards.
• Technical Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance. Prepare detailed reports, work orders, and maintenance logs to support data-driven decision-making and audits.
• Collaboration and Training: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and operations, to foster a collaborative culture. Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in mechanical maintenance.
• Emergency Response: Respond promptly to equipment failures or breakdowns, diagnosing issues and implementing rapid solutions to minimize production disruptions and financial losses.
• Vendor and Contractor Management: Liaise with external vendors and contractors to procure high-quality spare parts, tools, and services. Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective and timely procurement.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) are advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in the cable, power, or heavy machinery sectors.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, including pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems. Familiarity with CAD software, PLC systems, and condition monitoring tools is highly desirable.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and diagnostic skills to identify root causes of mechanical failures and develop effective solutions. Ability to think critically and make data-driven decisions under pressure.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Proficiency in English is required; additional language skills are a plus.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, delegate tasks, and manage priorities in a fast-paced industrial setting.
