Key Responsibilities

As a Signaling Engineer at Hitachi, you will be entrusted with a diverse range of responsibilities that span technical, analytical, and collaborative domains. Your core duties will include:

• System Design and Development: Lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation of signaling systems, ensuring compliance with international standards and industry best practices. • Safety and Compliance: Conduct rigorous safety assessments and risk analyses to ensure that signaling systems meet stringent regulatory requirements. • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in signaling systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted operations. Provide on-site and remote support to address system anomalies, hardware failures, or software bugs in a timely manner.
• Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with project managers, software developers, hardware engineers, and external partners to align signaling solutions with project objectives. Participate in technical reviews, design workshops, and client meetings to present findings, propose enhancements, and secure stakeholder buy-in.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving acumen, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in signaling, railway engineering, or telecommunications are highly desirable.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of signaling principles, including track circuits, interlocking systems, and communication protocols. Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as CAD, MATLAB, or signaling simulation software is essential. Experience with railway signaling standards (e.g., ERTMS, CBTC, or PTC) is a significant advantage.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze complex systems, identify root causes of technical issues, and develop effective solutions. Strong mathematical and logical reasoning skills are critical for optimizing signaling performance.
• Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing engineering projects from inception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Proficiency in agile or waterfall methodologies is beneficial.
