Signaling Engineer – Join Hitachi in Jeddah

Hitachi is a global leader in innovation and technology, renowned for delivering cutting-edge solutions that drive progress across industries. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Signaling Engineer to join our dynamic team in Jeddah. In this pivotal role, you will play a critical part in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced signaling systems that enhance the efficiency, safety, and reliability of transportation networks. If you are passionate about leveraging your expertise in signal processing, communication systems, and railway signaling to contribute to transformative projects, we invite you to apply and become part of our vision for a smarter, more connected future.

Key Responsibilities

As a Signaling Engineer at Hitachi, you will be entrusted with a diverse range of responsibilities that span technical, analytical, and collaborative domains. Your core duties will include:

  • System Design and Development: Lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation of signaling systems, ensuring compliance with international standards and industry best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate signaling solutions into broader transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Signal Processing and Analysis: Apply advanced signal processing techniques to analyze, interpret, and optimize signaling data. Develop algorithms and models to enhance system performance, reduce latency, and improve signal integrity in high-demand environments.
  • Safety and Compliance: Conduct rigorous safety assessments and risk analyses to ensure that signaling systems meet stringent regulatory requirements. Prepare comprehensive documentation, including technical reports, safety cases, and certification submissions, to facilitate approval from relevant authorities.
  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in signaling systems, minimizing downtime and ensuring uninterrupted operations. Provide on-site and remote support to address system anomalies, hardware failures, or software bugs in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with project managers, software developers, hardware engineers, and external partners to align signaling solutions with project objectives. Participate in technical reviews, design workshops, and client meetings to present findings, propose enhancements, and secure stakeholder buy-in.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging trends in signaling technology, including digital signaling, AI-driven automation, and IoT integration. Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance system efficiency, scalability, and future-readiness.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving acumen, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in signaling, railway engineering, or telecommunications are highly desirable.
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of signaling principles, including track circuits, interlocking systems, and communication protocols. Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as CAD, MATLAB, or signaling simulation software is essential. Experience with railway signaling standards (e.g., ERTMS, CBTC, or PTC) is a significant advantage.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional ability to analyze complex systems, identify root causes of technical issues, and develop effective solutions. Strong mathematical and logical reasoning skills are critical for optimizing signaling performance.
  • Project Management: Demonstrated experience in managing engineering projects from inception to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Proficiency in agile or waterfall methodologies is beneficial.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong interpersonal skills to foster productive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with international safety standards, such as EN 50126, EN 50128, and EN 50129, as well as local regulatory requirements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Why Join Hitachi?
