Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join our dynamic team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this critical role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and execution of our mixed-use building development projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulatory standards. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the success of our construction initiatives while contributing to Egis’ reputation for excellence in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Scheduling and Planning: Develop, maintain, and update comprehensive project schedules using advanced planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Ensure all project timelines, milestones, and resource allocations are accurately defined and communicated to stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other key stakeholders to establish realistic project timelines, identify critical path activities, and allocate resources efficiently. Foster a collaborative environment to ensure alignment across all project phases.
• Risk Analysis and Optimization: Analyze project data to identify potential risks, conflicts, and opportunities for optimization. Proactively address scheduling challenges and propose data-driven solutions to mitigate delays and cost overruns.
• Reporting and Communication: Prepare detailed progress reports, forecasts, and presentations for senior management and clients. Ensure transparency and accountability by providing accurate, timely updates on project status, risks, and key performance indicators.
• Project Control Systems: Implement and maintain effective project control systems to monitor progress, costs, and resource utilization. Utilize these systems to track performance against benchmarks and take corrective action as needed.
• Site Coordination and Compliance: Conduct regular site visits to assess project progress, address scheduling issues, and ensure adherence to local building codes and regulations in Saudi Arabia. Verify that all construction activities comply with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Mentorship and Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to junior planning engineers. Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
• Sustainability and Compliance: Contribute to the development and implementation of sustainable building practices. Support LEED certification processes and ensure projects align with Egis’ commitment to environmental responsibility and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or specialized certifications are advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum of 13 years of progressive experience in planning engineering, with a strong focus on mixed-use building developments. A proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale construction projects in complex environments is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in project planning and scheduling software, including Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project. Strong knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software and AutoCAD is required. Familiarity with other industry-standard tools and technologies is a plus.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities with a detail-oriented approach to identifying risks, resolving conflicts, and optimizing project schedules. Strong problem-solving skills to navigate challenges in fast-paced environments.
• Communication and Leadership: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences. Demonstrated leadership qualities with experience mentoring and developing junior team members.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of mixed-use building development processes, local building codes, and regulations in Saudi Arabia. Knowledge of sustainable building practices and LEED certification processes is highly desirable.
• Certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a valuable asset.
