Key Responsibilities

• System Design and Development: Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced control systems, including PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), DCS (Distributed Control System), and other automation technologies. Ensure systems are scalable, robust, and aligned with industry best practices.
• Operational Optimization: Analyze existing control systems and operational processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, or areas for improvement. Develop and implement solutions to enhance system performance, reduce downtime, and optimize energy consumption.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Provide expert-level troubleshooting and diagnostic support for control systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations. Conduct regular maintenance, updates, and upgrades to hardware and software components to maintain system integrity and security.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all control systems and operational processes comply with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety protocols and risk mitigation strategies into system designs.
• Training and Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and technical resource for junior engineers and operational staff, providing training, guidance, and knowledge transfer to enhance team capabilities. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the organization.
• Project Management: Lead or participate in multidisciplinary projects, including system integrations, upgrades, and expansions. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources to deliver high-quality outcomes that meet business objectives.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of control systems, including schematics, manuals, and operational procedures. Generate reports on system performance, incidents, and improvement initiatives to support data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a combination of technical expertise, industry experience, and leadership qualities. The following qualifications and skills are essential:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications in control systems, automation, or industrial engineering are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in control systems engineering, with a proven track record in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex automation systems. Experience in industries such as oil and gas, petrochemicals, manufacturing, or utilities is preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider Electric), SCADA/HMI development, PID control loops, and industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP). Familiarity with simulation tools, such as MATLAB/Simulink, is a plus.
• Leadership and Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior staff, and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across departments. Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Problem-Solving and Innovation: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges. A passion for innovation and continuous improvement in control systems and operational processes.
• Communication and Reporting: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. Proficiency in preparing detailed reports, presentations, and documentation.
