Project Manager – Cybersecurity

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager – Cybersecurity to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of critical cybersecurity initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the full project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives, cybersecurity standards, and best practices. Your expertise will drive the successful implementation of projects while maintaining rigorous quality standards, managing stakeholder expectations, and mitigating risks effectively. This position requires a blend of technical acumen, strategic leadership, and exceptional project management skills to safeguard our digital infrastructure and support business continuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership and Execution: Spearhead the end-to-end management of cybersecurity projects, from initial scoping and planning to execution, monitoring, and delivery. Define clear project objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure successful outcomes.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between internal teams, customers, and third-party vendors, fostering collaboration and ensuring seamless communication throughout the project lifecycle. Bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders to align cybersecurity initiatives with organizational goals.
• Risk Management and Mitigation: Proactively identify potential risks, assess their impact, and implement robust mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions. Monitor project progress closely, adjusting plans as necessary to maintain alignment with deliverables and timelines.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure all project deliverables meet established quality standards and exceed customer expectations. Uphold compliance with organizational policies, cybersecurity frameworks, and industry best practices, including NCA ECC, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and CIS Controls.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, risk registers, and lessons learned. Provide transparent and timely updates to stakeholders, ensuring visibility into project performance and key metrics.
• Budget and Resource Management: Oversee project budgets, resource allocation, and overall performance to ensure cost efficiency and optimal utilization of assets. Conduct regular financial reviews and report on project expenditures.
• Continuous Improvement: Facilitate project review meetings to evaluate outcomes, capture insights, and identify opportunities for process enhancements. Drive a culture of continuous improvement by integrating lessons learned into future project planning.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must possess a strong foundation in project management within the cybersecurity domain, coupled with exceptional leadership and communication abilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering complex IT and cybersecurity projects on time and within budget.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in project management, with a focus on cybersecurity or information technology projects. Prior experience in managing multiple concurrent projects is highly desirable.
• Certifications: PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is strongly preferred. Additional certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+) are advantageous.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth understanding of cybersecurity concepts, technologies, and project delivery methodologies. Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards, such as NCA ECC, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and CIS Controls, is essential. Experience with cybersecurity solutions, including SOC, GRC, IAM, Vulnerability Management, Network Security, and Cloud Security projects, is a valuable asset.
• Soft Skills: Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities to navigate complex challenges. Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Tools and Platforms: Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or similar platforms is preferred. Experience with cybersecurity tools and platforms will be considered a significant advantage.
