Key Responsibilities
The Junior Accountant will be responsible for a range of critical financial tasks, including:
- Transaction Recording: Accurately record daily financial transactions, including journal entries, to ensure the integrity of the general ledger.
- Financial Reporting Support: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, providing clear and concise data to stakeholders.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform detailed reconciliations of bank accounts, intercompany transactions, and other key accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Month-End and Year-End Closing: Support the Finance Team during critical closing periods by preparing schedules, adjusting entries, and ensuring all financial activities are accurately documented and reported.
- Documentation Management: Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records, including invoices, receipts, and supporting documentation, in compliance with regulatory and internal policies.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including auditors, tax professionals, and senior management, to facilitate smooth financial operations and reporting processes.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Professional Certification: Membership in the Saudi Organization for Certified Public Accountants (SOCPA) is required.
- Experience: 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, with a focus on general ledger management, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools. Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, such as Oracle, is considered a significant advantage.
- Analytical and Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and communicate findings effectively in both written and verbal English. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential.
