Position Overview
ASMO, a pioneering joint venture between DHL and Aramco, is poised to revolutionize the procurement and supply chain landscape by leveraging DHL’s logistics expertise and Aramco’s expansive supply chain ecosystem. Scheduled to commence operations in 2025, ASMO is dedicated to delivering end-to-end integrated procurement and supply chain solutions tailored to the industrial, energy, chemical, and petrochemical sectors. Initially focusing on Saudi Aramco and its affiliates, ASMO aims to extend its services across all industrial sectors in Saudi Arabia and eventually the MENA region. As a Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial excellence by providing strategic insights, robust financial analysis, and executive-level reporting to support ASMO’s ambitious growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Planning and Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to evaluate business performance, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations to senior management. Prepare executive presentations that align financial insights with corporate strategy and operational priorities.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the development and execution of short to mid-term financial plans, ensuring alignment with ASMO’s strategic goals. Oversee the preparation of detailed annual budgets for business units and functions, including capital and operational expenditures. Utilize Oracle Financials to upload and manage budgetary data, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track departmental and organizational performance. Generate monthly financial reports that highlight variances, revenue positions, and progress against targets. Provide comprehensive narratives on significant deviations and recommend corrective actions to optimize financial outcomes.
- Financial Analysis and Cost Control: Perform detailed financial analysis of departmental performance against budgeted targets. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend measures to enhance financial efficiency. Oversee the preparation of quarterly actuals and reforecast financial figures, ensuring alignment with long-term business plans.
- Commercial and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with Saudi Arabian laws and regulations in all financial processes. Analyze commercial agreements to support financial planning, management reporting, and strategic decision-making. Conduct customer billing reconciliations and facilitate timely adjustments to ensure accuracy and adherence to contractual terms.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with the Director of Business Controlling to update and refine long-term business plans. Support internal meetings by providing year-over-year financial performance insights, highlighting gaps, and projecting future trends. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate financial planning with operational and commercial strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field from a recognized and accredited university. A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
- Professional certifications such as CFA, CISI, or ACCA are preferred and will be considered a strong advantage.
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
- Minimum of nine years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least three years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Proven expertise in budgeting activities, with a minimum of four years of hands-on experience, preferably within procurement, logistics, or related industries.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into strategic insights. Proficiency in financial software and tools, including Oracle Financials, is required.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
