Key Responsibilities

As a Commercial Manager at Mace, your core responsibilities will include:

• Contract Management: Develop, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and mitigate risks for the organization. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while safeguarding Mace’s interests.
• Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets, forecasts, and cash flows to maintain financial health. Analyze variances and implement corrective actions to ensure projects remain on track and within budget.
• Tendering and Procurement: Lead the tendering process, including bid preparation, evaluation, and submission. Collaborate with procurement teams to secure cost-effective materials and services without compromising quality.
• Cost Control and Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements through value engineering and strategic sourcing. Work closely with project teams to optimize resource allocation and reduce waste.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders. Act as a trusted advisor to senior management, providing insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
• Risk Management: Proactively identify and assess commercial risks, developing mitigation strategies to protect Mace’s reputation and financial performance. Ensure all commercial activities adhere to company policies and industry best practices.
• Reporting and Analysis: Prepare accurate and timely commercial reports, including financial statements, project performance metrics, and risk assessments. Present findings to senior leadership to inform strategic planning and operational improvements.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., RICS, CIPS) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in commercial management, preferably within the construction, infrastructure, or engineering sectors.
• Proven track record in contract negotiation, financial management, and cost control within a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, assess risks, and develop data-driven solutions.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in commercial software tools, such as ERP systems, cost management software, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
• Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
