IT Project Manager

About the Role

An esteemed Local Authority based in East London is seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Project Manager to oversee the delivery of critical Technology Roadmap initiatives. This pivotal role will focus on the implementation and optimisation of Modern Workplace technologies, including Microsoft 365, Identity solutions, Endpoint Management, and SharePoint Online. The successful candidate will play a central role in driving digital transformation within the organisation, ensuring seamless integration and adoption of these technologies to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

The IT Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of M365 and Modern Workplace projects, from initial planning through to successful implementation. This includes:

• Project Leadership: Managing the full lifecycle of M365 and Modern Workplace projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and organisational goals.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and external partners, to foster alignment and drive project success.
• Project Planning & Governance: Developing comprehensive project plans, managing budgets, timelines, risks, and dependencies, while ensuring adherence to governance frameworks and architectural standards.
• Reporting & Communication: Providing clear and concise governance reporting to senior leadership and stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations for resolution.
• Compliance & Best Practices: Ensuring all projects comply with organisational governance policies, architectural standards, and M365 best practices to mitigate risks and ensure long-term sustainability.
• Change Management: Facilitating user adoption and transition into service through effective change management strategies, training, and support initiatives.
• Issue Resolution: Managing escalations and providing strategic recommendations to address complex delivery challenges and ensure project continuity.

Essential Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience:

• Proven IT Project Management Expertise: A track record of successfully delivering Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace projects within a corporate or public sector environment.
• Stakeholder & Governance Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders and ensure compliance with governance frameworks.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Identity solutions, and Endpoint Management technologies.
• Strategic Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Risk & Planning Acumen: Strong analytical and planning skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating project risks.
• Public Sector Advantage: Prior experience within Local Government or the Public Sector is highly desirable, though not mandatory.
