Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Housekeeping Coordinator will play a multifaceted role, balancing administrative duties with operational support and guest service. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Coordination & Communication:
  • Act as the primary communication hub for the housekeeping department, ensuring seamless interaction with the Front Office regarding room status updates, including vacant, occupied, and out-of-order rooms.
  • Liaise with the Engineering and Maintenance teams to facilitate repairs and follow-ups, ensuring minimal disruption to guest experiences.
  • Communicate guest requests promptly and accurately to housekeeping team members, ensuring timely resolution and guest satisfaction.
• Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain meticulous housekeeping records, reports, and logs to ensure compliance with operational and brand standards.
  • Update room status in the Property Management System (PMS) with precision and efficiency.
  • Prepare and distribute daily assignment sheets for room attendants, ensuring clarity and accountability in task allocation.
  • Track lost and found items in accordance with hotel policy, ensuring proper documentation and retrieval processes.
  • Monitor stock levels and manage supply requisitions to maintain optimal inventory levels and operational readiness.
• Guest Service:
  • Handle both internal and external guest requests with professionalism, efficiency, and courtesy, ensuring a seamless guest experience.
  • Ensure VIP rooms and special requests are prepared to the exacting standards of Sofitel, reflecting the brand’s commitment to luxury.
  • Follow up on guest complaints with a proactive approach, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining guest trust.
• Operational Support:
  • Assist in room allocation and prioritize cleaning schedules to optimize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor the productivity of room attendants and housekeeping staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensure strict compliance with cleanliness, hygiene, and luxury brand standards across all operations.
  • Support housekeeping supervisors during peak periods, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.
• Quality & Standards:
  • Uphold the highest standards of Sofitel’s luxury service and brand guidelines, ensuring consistency in guest experiences.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions and operations.
  • Assist in the implementation and adherence to departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to drive operational excellence.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and competencies:

• Prior experience in housekeeping or hotel operations, with a preference for candidates with luxury hotel experience.
• Proficiency in Property Management Systems (PMS), such as Opera, is highly desirable.
• Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
• Strong command of English; additional languages are a valuable asset.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest professional standards.
• Demonstrated ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, to meet operational demands.
