Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant to join our finance team. Key Responsibilities

The Accountant will be responsible for a diverse range of financial tasks, including:

• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Develop and present ad-hoc financial reports tailored to meet the evolving needs of the business, ensuring data accuracy and relevance for informed decision-making.
• Tax Compliance and Documentation: Prepare and file tax documents in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, while staying updated on changes in tax legislation to mitigate risks and optimize tax positions.
• Financial Statement Preparation: Compile, review, and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, to provide insights into the company’s financial performance and stability.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process by collaborating with department heads to establish financial targets, monitor expenditures, and forecast future financial performance to support strategic planning initiatives.
• Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts receivable, and accounts payable to ensure the integrity of financial records and identify discrepancies promptly.
• Audit Support: Assist in the preparation for internal and external audits by maintaining organized financial documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and implementing recommendations to enhance internal controls.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from an accredited institution. Professional certifications such as CPA or CMA are highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to interpret and analyze complex financial statements, periodicals, and market trends to derive actionable insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Software Competency: Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, with the ability to leverage financial software and tools for data management and reporting.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to identify financial trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, coupled with the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
