Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Accounting Officer, you will be entrusted with a diverse range of responsibilities that contribute to the financial health and operational excellence of Almarai. Your core duties will include:

• Financial Oversight: Lead and supervise the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements. This includes overseeing month-end and year-end closing processes across all business units.
• Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth. Provide strategic direction to ensure alignment with Almarai’s financial objectives.
• Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, implement best practices, and leverage technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Risk Management & Compliance: Ensure robust internal controls are in place to mitigate financial risks, safeguard assets, and maintain compliance with corporate policies and regulatory frameworks. Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes.
• Strategic Financial Analysis: Partner with senior management to provide actionable insights through financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. Support decision-making with data-driven recommendations to drive business performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including procurement, operations, and supply chain, to ensure seamless financial integration and alignment with organizational goals.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or supervisory role within a large organization or multinational corporation.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong command of accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools is a plus.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide strategic recommendations. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities are essential.
• Communication & Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. Demonstrated leadership in managing and developing high-performing teams.
