Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accounting Officer will play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of Almarai by executing the following responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting and Compliance: Prepare and review accurate financial statements, ensuring adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements. Oversee the consolidation of financial data from all business units to present a unified financial picture.
• Strategic Financial Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that support long-term business objectives. Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to drive decision-making.
• Internal Controls and Audit Support: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks. Work closely with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance with audit requirements and address any findings proactively.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, including the preparation of detailed forecasts and variance analysis. Monitor financial performance against budgets and provide recommendations for corrective actions when necessary.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various departments, including procurement, operations, and human resources, to streamline financial processes and enhance operational efficiency. Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders on financial matters.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Prior experience in the food and beverage industry or a multinational corporation is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis. Strong knowledge of ERP systems, such as SAP or Oracle, and advanced Excel skills are essential.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Demonstrated leadership skills with the capacity to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
