Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Technician to join our dynamic team in Saudi Arabia, specializing in agriculture with a focus on greenhouse and field operations. Key Responsibilities

• Experimental Execution: Assist in the planning, setup, and execution of research experiments in both controlled greenhouse environments and open-field conditions. This includes preparing experimental plots, planting seeds, applying treatments, and monitoring plant growth under varying conditions.
• Data Collection & Analysis: Collect accurate and timely data on plant health, growth metrics, soil conditions, and environmental parameters. Utilize specialized equipment and software to record, organize, and analyze data, ensuring compliance with research protocols and quality standards.
• Field & Greenhouse Operations: Oversee daily operations in greenhouse facilities and field sites, including irrigation management, pest control, nutrient application, and equipment maintenance. Ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices in agricultural research.
• Collaboration & Reporting: Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to interpret research findings and contribute to scientific reports, presentations, and publications. Provide technical support to fellow researchers and assist in troubleshooting operational challenges.
• Compliance & Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of experimental procedures, observations, and results. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and institutional policies governing agricultural research.
• Innovation & Problem-Solving: Identify opportunities to improve research methodologies, optimize resource utilization, and implement sustainable agricultural techniques. Propose innovative solutions to enhance productivity and resilience in agricultural systems.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a strong foundation in agricultural sciences, horticulture, or a related field, complemented by hands-on experience in greenhouse management and field operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in data collection tools, research methodologies, and agricultural technologies. Additionally, the following qualifications are required:

• A bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Plant Science, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of practical experience in agricultural research, preferably in greenhouse and field settings.
• Familiarity with agricultural research protocols, experimental design, and statistical analysis tools.
• Strong technical skills in operating and maintaining greenhouse equipment, irrigation systems, and field machinery.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data management software; experience with agricultural software or GIS tools is a plus.
• Ability to work in challenging environmental conditions, including outdoor fieldwork in varying weather conditions.
