Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced TPE III / Piping Engineer to join our dynamic team at John Wood Group PLC in Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing piping systems to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with industry standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in piping engineering, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Design & Development: Lead the design and development of piping systems, including layout, routing, and material selection, to meet project specifications and regulatory requirements. Utilize advanced engineering software and tools to create accurate and efficient designs.
  • Technical Analysis & Validation: Conduct thorough technical analyses, including stress, thermal, and hydraulic calculations, to ensure the integrity and reliability of piping systems. Validate designs through simulations and testing to mitigate potential risks and optimize performance.
  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, architects, and other engineering disciplines to integrate piping systems seamlessly into overall project plans. Provide technical guidance and support to ensure alignment with project timelines, budgets, and objectives.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all piping designs and installations comply with international codes and standards, such as ASME, API, and ISO. Implement robust safety protocols to minimize hazards and ensure a secure working environment for all stakeholders.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed engineering reports, drawings, and specifications to document designs and facilitate approvals. Maintain accurate records of all engineering activities and ensure compliance with company and regulatory documentation standards.
  • Problem-Solving & Innovation: Identify and resolve complex engineering challenges related to piping systems. Stay abreast of industry advancements and innovative technologies to enhance system efficiency and sustainability.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in piping engineering is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in piping engineering, with a proven track record in designing and managing piping systems for large-scale projects. Experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or energy sectors is highly desirable.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in industry-standard engineering software, such as AutoCAD, PDMS, Caesar II, or similar tools. Strong knowledge of piping codes and standards, including ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, and API 650.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer (CEng) certification is a strong advantage.
